You're such a sex symbol!!

Sempre que olho para o anúncio de óculos de sol de Tom Ford lembro-me de Brigitte Bardot.

Penso que todos, ou quase todos, devem saber quem é. De qualquer forma, para quem não sabe, deixo aqui algumas informações.

Brigitte Bardot nasceu em França, em 1934. Durante três anos teve aulas de ballet no "Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris" e, mais tarde, começou a trabalhar como modelo, até que foi descoberta por alguém ligado à indústria do cinema (aquele que viria a ser o seu 1º marido). Tornou-se actriz e como foi das primeiras a aparecer no cinema em biquini e, mais tarde, em cenas de nu, depressa se tornou num símbolo sexual.

Há alguns anos atrás retirou-se do cinema e tornou-se activista pelos direitos dos animais, tendo criado uma fundação: "Fondation Brigitte-Bardot", o que lhe tem trazido alguns processos em tribunal.

Será sempre um dos símbolos sexuais das décadas de 60 e 70, sendo um marco na história do cinema, moda e arte.

Quanto a Tom Ford, pode-se dizer que é um designer americano com muito sucesso, responsável por ter salvo a casa Gucci da ruína. Foi graças às suas colecções elegantes, que a casa Gucci voltou a ganhar força no mercado. Presentemente, Tom Ford é também responsável por outras grandes casas de moda, tais como Yves Saint Laurent e Balenciaga.



Every time I put my eyes on Tom Ford's sunglasses campaign I remember Brigitte Bardot.

I think everyone, or almost, knows about her.

Anyway, for those who don't know, I'll give you some information.

Brigitte Bardot was born in France, in 1934. She had ballet classes for three years at the "Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris" and than started working as a model, until she was found by someone connected to the film industry. She became an actress and, as she was the first to appear in biquini and nude scenes, she quickly became a sex symbol.

Some years ago she retired from the film industry and is fighting for animal's rights within her foundation: "Fondation Brigitte-Bardot".

She will be forever one of the sex symbols of the 60's and 70's and therefore a mark in the fashion, film and arts history.

As for Tom Ford, we can say that he is a successful american designer, responsible for having saved Gucci from the ruin. It was in his hands and with his successful, stylish, elegant collections that Gucci started to gain some force in the market. Tom Ford is now in charge of other fashion labels such as Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.
